Mahatma Gandhi- The Irony in Our Country

Mahatma Gandhi or Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. Father of our nation.
What comes first in our mind when we hear about him? Of course, it has to be our currency. Apart from that? Let me guess, the one who caused the delay in our independence, on who ruined our independent India by making Nehru our first PM. One who began the Nepotism in Indian Politics. What else has life taught us till now?

I have been using the Internet for over seven years now and I have not yet come across a single article which looks deep into his contributions, his life, his path. I have no idea who popularized the idea that by insulting Gandhi Ji one can call yourself a pro historian, but what they did, it affected our country very much. Imagine a country that believes that their forefathers found a new, independent country for achieving their personal ends? And now think how their morale must be working to make this country a better place. This is exactly what's happening to India. We so firmly believe that Gandhi  Ji, one of the founding fathers of this country,  was against India that we can go to any length to justify what we believe.

Now put India in place of Gandhi Ji . Similar things are happening nowadays with the name of our country. People are finding humor in insulting India. People are starting to believe that they are a patriot by insulting their motherland on social networks. And behind this believe lies the fact that they are doing their country a favor by telling bad things about India. What I personally believe
is that by doing so what they achieve by doing this is not anything that is in favor of our country. They are just creating a negative image of their nation in the minds of their fellow countrymen as well as people from other countries. If you have a problem with your fridge or your bike you go to the person who can help you to repair it, and not broadcast it on a radio. What you do is a broadcast that you will create a negative image of the brand which manufactured the product. Same happens when you insult your country or it's founding father.

So coming back to Gandhi Ji, I read his book "The story of my experiment with the truth", and each upcoming chapter, I could feel the purpose of the book. Here I would like to tell you that I have read autobiographies of many world leader, including "Mein Kampf" by Adolf Hitler. And my experience with it was different and everyone can easily tell the difference between the two.

Born and brought up Por Bandar, Gujrat, Gandhi Ji had normal upbringing with a middle-class family. At that, he learned so many life lessons that we can not even imagine nowadays. He never had leadership quality, neither in his childhood nor in the near future. But what he had from his childhood was a firm resolution, a strong will, and an understanding of what's right in its basic principle. In South Africa, he stood against racism when he faced it for the first time. He started an anti-racism campaign in a foreign country. ALONE. And all this was done in his early life.He believed that if you want to change the world then you have to be the change

In his life, during he achieved many heights and he was first and probably the only one who made India United. Before independence, there were more than 150 independent states in India, with 122 major and 1599 minor languages. With more than 33,00,00,000 different deities in Hinduism alone, other than Islam, Christianity, Zoroastrians, Buddhism, Jainism, et cetera, we have a very vivid range of culture. And all these people following different culture, different economy, different faith united under a single leader with only one motive in their heart, of independent India. Are we really, so stupid, so as to believe this great number of people can be fooled by a man with no political background, no riches to spend on them, having nothing but a way to counter Britishers.

The irony is when we insult Gandhi Ji, many world leaders made him their idol and followed the path laid by him towards the betterment of their nation. Some of them are, Barack Obama, Aung San Suu Kyi, Dalai Lama, Martin Luther King Jr. and the list can go on and on. We, as today's generation, need to change the way our next generation will look towards our founding fathers. We need to motivate them to make India Great. We need to be the change we want to see in our country.
I try to follow his path
